Emmalyn Hanson, daughter of Charity and Derrik Wrolson and Jordan Hanson, was chosen as a student of the quarter. Emmie was chosen because she never gives up no matter how tough things get. “She always approaches challenges with a positive attitude and a smile, showing true perseverance and grit. When faced with something difficult, she doesn’t let it bring her down; she keeps trying until she succeeds. Her determination and upbeat spirit inspire those around her to do their best, too,” commented Miss Sundley, Emmie’s teacher. Emmie feels coming to school is important so you can learn. She also feels working hard is important so you can get good grades. Her advice to others is “to listen.” Emmalyn enjoys math class and when she is not in school, she is involved in gymnastics. Emmie is in third grade.
Philip Ankenbauer, a freshmen student at Bowbells, was chosen as a student of the quarter. “Phil has shown dedication and grit through his hard work this quarter. The adjustment to coming to Bowbells Public School has been tough, but he has taken it head on. He asks good questions and goes to teachers for clarification and help when he needs it,” reported Mrs. Cerise, his science teacher. Phil agrees working hard is important “so I don’t go broke and so my mom doesn’t get mad at me.” When asked what advice he would give to others on how to work hard to achieve your goals, he replied, “Just do it and show up and don’t be lazy.” Phil is involved in cross country, basketball and track. In his spare time, he can be found playing four-wheeler tag, farming, running or playing ping pong. Phil is the son of Bryan and Joy Ankenbauer.
Trevor Kreklau, son of Julie Termine and Chris Kreklau, was chosen as a student of the quarter of Bowbells High School. “Trevor deserves to be recognized because he is responsible and completes his assignments on time. He strives to do his best on every assignment. He has proven that he is mature enough to take College Composition and be successful. Not only is Trevor an excellent student, but he is also a kind role model for our second-grade students when he volunteers in their classroom,” commented Mr. St. Croix, Trevor’s English teacher. Trevor finds education important so that he can do whatever he wants later in life. “Give 100% to whatever goal is in front of you. If you are going to do something, you might as well fully commit yourself,” Trevor advises. Trevor is involved in basketball, baseball, football, and FBLA. He enjoys hunting and golfing in his spare time. Trevor is a senior.
Elsie Jespersen, daughter of Erica and Jed Jespersen, was chosen as an elementary student of the quarter at Bowbells Public School. Elsie likes to go to school to learn. She advises her friends to work hard so they can learn. “Elsie has started the year off with kindness, hard work, and compassion. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and is a great role model to her classmates. She is the sweetest girl, and I am incredibly proud of her and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for her!” exclaimed Mrs. Melby, Elsie’s teacher. Elsie’s favorite part of school is recess. When she is not in school, she enjoys playing family games and board games. Elsie is in kindergarten.
